My short recommendation is give this place a shot. To be fair, I was hesitant/skeptical going in about having a common bathroom situation, but it worked out reasonably well. In the middle of the ten tents is a common bathroom with 4 toilets, 4 showers, and 2 sinks. Each tent has an assigned parking spot, a fire pit with 2 Adirondack chairs, and well lit paths. Each tent also has an ac/heater mounted as the head board to the bed, and two lamps. Each tent is equipped with a king sized bed (very comfy), a pull out couch, and a 2x4 table that has a sink, coffee maker, and a dorm sized fridge. My family spent 4 nights in two tents in the Lotus Valley of The Summit at Big Bend. And the winds did calm in the middle of the night. Slept fine once it was cool inside the dome. They kindly leave ear plugs if you’re bothered by the wind noise. The first night it felt like the dome was going to lift off. I just felt like it was a lot of money to spend on accommodation to not be able to rest when we needed to or to come back and comfortably be able to get ready to go to dinner. Only then was it cool enough inside to tolerate. We tried to find things to do when we finished hiking and didn’t return to the dome until about 7:30. We were exhausted from hiking but couldn’t rest inside bc it was so hot (the air conditioning is not capable of cooling it). They cover the dome at 10am and take the cover off at 7pm. So hot in the dome you literally can’t be in the thing in for a good 8 hours during the day. I’d say a mini fridge is a standard amenity in pretty much any hotel you stay at these days. The night skies are gorgeous, even inside the dome. The bathhouse is kept clean, fixtures are nice and new and the soaps provided smelled nice and were appreciated. Positive - fun vibe and concept, but I would not say “luxury.” The king bed was comfy and the linens were quality. The only other improvement I would suggest is to install some kind of shade on the dome doors because the light is extremely bright in the mornings. There is a bench to put your towel and clothes on but it would be very helpful if they installed a hook on the wall as well. The showers are huge and each has 2 rain showers next to each other in the same shower stall which is a bit odd. All of them are open to the elements to some degree. The bathrooms and showers are very clean. The HVAC works great but we were there in December and had very mild weather. There are extra linens for the sofa bed, bath towels, and wash cloths. Everything inside is from Ikea and looks pretty new. The domes have a typical minifridge, a sink (with only cold water), a very comfy sofa, luggage rack, and super comfy king size bed. It was very clean and nicer than I thought it would be. We stayed in one of the domes in the back of the property.
